Knowing there's a sauna makes me 30% more willing to shell out $4k+. Thanks for that detail!

A good chunk of my underlying terror resolved after ~5 ketamine sessions of witnessing (/surrendering to) infinite dimensions of strife. The statement that emerged was "I am willing to feel this" (you can just feel things).

I enjoyed your description of your journey!

This is a woman in Boulder who works with birth trauma. A friend of mine who was adopted liked her approach. She has a free webinar tomorrow

That two step process worked immediately for this Christian. For me the “open hearted feeling” is what happens with God. It was a duh moment for me, after it says “draw near to God and he will draw near to you” and “in your presence is fullness of joy”. So a Buddhist style instruction brought me to a simpler deeper easier on tap knowing of God like a little child receiving a gift. I was making it too complicated to be in the Spirit. Thank you.

Just stop, open up, and as it says “all joy and peace in trusting in him” Romans 15:13. Nothing I haven’t experienced before, but know more deeply now the accessible on the spot grace.

"facing a lifetime of deep-seated preverbal terror seems like a small price to pay for getting to go to heaven while I’m still alive."

Approach shadow work and entering the unconscoius with caution, instead of headstrong, light hearted curiosity. Something I've learned from a mutual friend of ours, where we met Tyler :)

Nice post though - super helpful to hear your account of it all. Wishing you all the best!

Did the women in the halls tell you they were searching for Wellness, or is your misogyny so precisely tuned that you can dismiss whole groups en masse based on the age you perceive them to be?

You wouldn’t believe it, but they were all wearing headbands and T-shirts that said “I’m here for wellness because I’m a middle-aged woman” but I tried not to notice because I knew it would be misogynous

Result-oriented has poisoined my thoughts, a big part is saying what is the value in experiencing those sensations if It does not lead me to a result. Would you please speak to my terror that is afraid of pursuing this too good to be true experience and answer why should I want to experience Jhana if it is just a state in of itself?

I went through an experience of dealing with extremely early trauma on my own Jhourney retreat. It wasn't quite preverbal but it was probably 35 years old. I've experienced a lasting change too, it wasn't just a one-off thing. I talk about it in my own article on my retreat, but happy to chat too.

I find the subliminal, permeating tension very relatable. It's gotten more subtle as I age, but deeply relaxing has something alien to it.

Tips for engaging with the preverbal terror? Something somatic, like yoga. Whatever makes you be present in the body, with the body, with the sensations.

How silent is it? The Jhourney website doesn't specify this aspect.

silent except for facilitator check-ins and a couple social meditations
